Virtual Trade Mission

MINNESOTA -ECUADOR - BOLIVIA - CHILE - COLOMBIA -PERU

Join Us for a Virtual Trade Mission!

At the Trade Center of the Americas, we are all about trade and about facilitating opportunities. This fall, we are launching a virtual trade mission as part of our public-private-partnership services.  We are joining efforts with our local and international community partners to convene an agenda around trade. On November 20th, we are putting together a virtual trade mission with representatives from local and foreign governments, small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, farmers, and women entrepreneurs.

Join us on a journey to South America, where you can experience a unique live virtual conversation with trade actors from across sectors; learn about supply chain alternatives and business opportunities from five countries in South America. We will introduce our corporate responsible, transparent, and inclusive way of doing business, where everyone, especially small and medium-sized companies, have a seat at the table! Interpreters will be provided to make it a fully bilingual event.

A little bit more about Trade Missions...

A trade mission is, traditionally, an international trip made by high-level government officials (presidents, ministers, commissioners, etc), corporate representatives, and business leaders. Trade missions are organized by agencies of national or local governments, for the purpose of exploring international trade and business opportunities with foreign countries.

Trade missions are attended (in person) by government officials and representatives from companies interested in expanding their business internationally. These trips involve the costs of travel, logistics, and other expenses for the participants. The purpose of the trade missions is to establish a relationship between countries and to learn first hand about export/import products and services, as well as government regulations and policies.

The TCA's vision is to provide a similar experience in an affordable cost-effective way. We take a comprehensive approach, recognizing that not all businesses have access to resources such as trade missions, to be inclusive of women and minority-owned enterprises, startups, small and medium-sized companies. That way, entrepreneurs from companies of all sizes have a fair chance to learn about opportunities to grow their business internationally.

We are aware of how the pandemic has significantly affected and disrupted trade and the supply chain of products, globally. We want to transform these adversities into opportunities by utilizing technology to bridge gaps and to connect our members and nonmembers with the necessary tools to increase their export opportunities. By attending this trade mission, you'll have the chance to take a more in-depth view of how the trade and international ecosystem works.
